Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojanais a unique initiative by the Government of India that aims to offer 24 lakh Indian youth meaningful, industry relevant, skill based training. Under this scheme, the trainees will be offered a financial reward and a government certification on successful completion of training and assessment, which will help them in securing a job for a better future.

The objective of this Scheme is to encourage skill development for youth by providing monetary rewards for successful completion of approved training programs. Specifically, the Scheme aims to:

  • Encourage standardization in the certification process and initiate a process of creating a registry of skills
  • Enable and mobilize a large number of Indian youth to take up skill training and become employable and earn their livelihood. Increase productivity of the existing workforce and align the training and certification to the needs of the country.
  • Provide Monetary Awards for Skill Certification to boost employability and productivity of youth by incentivizing them for skill trainings
  • Reward candidates undergoing skill training by authorized institutions at an average monetary reward of Rs. 8,000 (Rupees Eight Thousand) per candidate.
  • Benefit 24 lakh youth at an approximate total cost of Rs. 1,500 Crores. Mahendra Skills taking an initiative under this program has 87 centers pan India where it runs different courses under this program in various sectors like RETAIL,HOSPITALITY,AUTOMOTIVES,TELECOM,BANKING etc.

RASCI represent the retail industry in India. It is a collaborative and comprehensive source of retail expertise and independent advice for industry, training organizations, and educational institutions, certifying bodies, employees, students or jobseekers about skills development in the retail industry

Mandate :
  • Development of a culture which promotes and enhances the skills development of its workforce.
  • Ensure availability of entire value chains requirement of appropriately trained manpower in quantity and quality across all levels on a sustained and evolving basis.
  • Vertical and Horizontal portability for VET skills as a comparable education across industries/education/systems/geographies by building a robust quality assurance.
  • Create a transparency for all industry members for availability of appropriately trained skilled manpower.
  • Knowledge/Information repository as an open system.
  • Process/Technology information as an open system.
  • Number of Trainers to be trained: 3,290 over 10 years.
  • Number of Trainees to be certified: 8.8 million over 10 years.
  • Number of Institutes to be accredited: 1,325 over 10 years.

Mahendra Skills being the funded training partner of RASCI provides training for the course of TRAINEE ASSOCIATE where it acquires candidates interested in the field of Retail sector equipping them with the practical aspect of working environment in the retail outlet.

Tourism and Hospitality Skill Council (THSC) is a Not – for – Profit Organization, registered under the Societies Registration Act, 1860. The Tourism and Hospitality Skill Council (THSC) is promoted by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) with inclusive representation of the Government, Industry, Industry Associations and Training Institutes across India, with financial support by National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC). Tourism and Hospitality Skill Council (THSC) which is formed by the Industry and for the Industry to tackle the skilling of large manpower to fulfill the industry requirement plays a crucial role in bridging this ever-growing gap. THSC is mandated to create a robust and sustainable eco-system for skill development in the industry. THSC caters to all the sub sectors of the Industry, namely, Hotels, Tour Operators, Food Service Restaurants, Facilities Management and Cruise Liners.

The Telecom Sector Skill Council (TSSC) is a Non-Profit Organization, registered under the Societies Registration Act, 1860. We are an industry led apex body, jointly set up by The Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI), Indian Cellular Association (ICA) & Telecom Centres of Excellence (TCOE) to ensure adequate availability of skilled manpower to boost growth and productivity in the Telecom Sector. Set up under the aegis of the National Skill Development Corporation, TSSC has members from the various Telecom industries, Academia, Industry associations (such as COAI, ICA, AUSPI & TAIPA) and representation from the Government (DeitY) as well

ASDC The Automotive Skills Development Council (ASDC) is the first sector skill council of India, promoted by the Automobile industry through Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM), Automotive Component Manufacturers Association (ACMA) and Federation of Automobile Dealers Association (FADA) and Government of India represented by Department of Heavy Industry and National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC). ASDC was incorporated as a society under the Societies Registration Act, 1860 in March 2011.

Uttar Pradesh being the largest populated state in the country, the target for skill development for the 12th plan has been fixed at 8 million by Uttar Pradesh Skill Development Mission. More than 25 lakh youth enter the labour force every year in the state without proper skills. In addition, there is a backlog. The State Rural Livelihood mission is already engaged in enabling livelihood options to a large numbers through Self Employment and SHGs, irrespective of age and literacy levels.

Therefore, State Skill Development Mission would focus on providing wage employment linked skills and training to children who drop out of the education stream between class 5th and 12th, who number approximately 20 lakh per year, with more emphasis on youth who have qualified class 8th as they can be trained in many more sector thus enhancing their employability. All persons between the ages of 14 to 35, preferably 8th pass, who need skill development training to improve their earning capacities and level, shall be eligible for the skill development training. People who are 5th pass and above will also be considered for courses which have a lesser eligibility requirement. Skill development will also be extended to unskilled/semi-skilled workers seeking to enhance their skill levels.

The program shall target Women, SC/STs, and other marginalized sections of society. The specific provisions for different categories of people in schemes such as NRLM, MSDP, BOCW, BADP, SCA to SCSP etc. shall be adhered. The funds available under these schemes will not only be used for skill development but also for setting up infrastructure for trainings of these groups. Overall, the program shall have a target of 40% for women, 21% for SC/STs and 15% for minorities across all the trainings provided in the state through the Mission.

Making one person in every family digitally literate is one of the integral components of the Prime Minister's vision of “Digital India”. The Digital SakshartaAbhiyan (DISHA) or National Digital Literacy Mission (NDLM) Scheme has been formulated under this vision to impart IT training to 52.5 lakh non-IT literate persons in all the States/UTs across the country. This will enable the citizens to actively and effectively participate in the democratic and developmental process and also enhance their livelihood.

Altogether 52.5 lakh persons, including Anganwadi and ASHA workers and authorised ration dealers will be trained under the Scheme in two phases. In the first phase, 10 lakh beneficiaries will be trained under the scheme. Out of this, 6.3 lakh beneficiaries will be trained on Level 1 and 2.7 lakh beneficiaries will be trained on Level 2. Nine lakh beneficiaries will be eligible for training fee support from the government. The rest 100,000 beneficiaries will be trained by the industry and civil society partners. Under Phase II, 42.5 lakh persons will be trained, which also includes Anganwadi and ASHA workers and authorised ration dealers.

NDLM provided two levels of training under this Scheme 1stAppreciation of Digital Literacy (Level 1) aims to make a person IT literate, so that he/ she can operate digital devices, like mobile phones, tablets, etc., send and receive emails and search Internet for information, 2ndBasics of Digital Literacy (Level 2) is aimed at providing a higher level of IT literacy to citizens. Here, the citizens would be trained to effectively access various e-Governance services being offered by the Government and other agencies.

The State Urban Development Agency (SUDA), Uttar Pradesh intends to set up a State Mission Management Unit (SMMU) at Luck now & City Mission Management Unit (CMMU) at Selected 82 cities of Uttar Pradesh to provide focused support for the implementation of its scheme – National Urban Livelihoods Mission (NULM). The objective is to efficiently and effectively manage, coordinate, and monitor the implementation of NULM by providing programmatic support to the State Urban Livelihood Mission (SULM), Ministry of Urban Employment & Poverty Alleviation, Govt. of Uttar Pradesh.
